Does anyone else think that The Decemberists vocalist Colin Meloy’s voice sounds just like Jump, Little Children’s Jay Clifford?

Especially on The Decemberists’ “Red Right Ankle” and Jump’s “Cathedrals”.

    My iPod’s Favorite Music

    Comments Off | Comments Off

I have officially become addicted to my blog, much the same way I’m addicted to Google, Facebook, all my friends’ blogs, and the most recent addition, myspace. The Facebook is becoming creepy in all the things it can find out about you/tell your friends… first photos, then notes, now “news”. Scary, yet fascinating.

So here is the short list of my iPod’s “Top 25″.

    1. Kings of Leon – Milk
    2. The Strokes – You Only Live Once
    3. The Figurines – Continuous Songs
    4. The Raconteurs – Steady, As She Goes (Acoustic Version)
    5. The Strokes – Razorblade
    6. David Gray – Say Hello Wave Goodbye
    7. David Gray – Babylon II
    8. The Presets – Girl and the Sea
    9. Of Montreal – The Party’s Crashing Us
    10. Kings of Leon – King of the Rodeo
    11. Autopassion – Whatever
    12. Autopassion – I Like Your Purse
    13. James Blunt – You’re Beautiful
    14. Keane – Everybody’s Changing
    15. Of Montreal – My British Tour Diary
    16. The Libertines – The Good Old Days
    17. Timbuktu – Alla Vill Till Himmelen Men Ingen Vill Do
    18. The Strokes – Heart in a Cage
    19. The Figurines – All Night
    20. Coldplay – The Hardest Part
    21. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah! – The Skin of My Yellow Country Teeth
    22. Push to Talk – Problems
    23. Boy Kill Boy – Suzie
    24. Eric Prydz – Call on Me
    25. Beck – Girl

    AND COMING IN CLOSE:
    26. Clap Your Hands Say Yeah! – Is This Love?
    27. The Darkness – Love is Only a Feeling
    28. The Flaming Lips – The Yeah Yeah Yeah Song
    29. Franz Ferdinand – Eleanor Put Your Boots On
    30. The Low Millions – Eleanor

And going through this list begs the question: Does having a “Favorites” playlist simply create a self-perpetuating cycle of songs without allowing new songs into the mix? Hm… it’s a good thing I never listen to my “Favorites”.. I listen to “Snakes on a Plane”.

In six months, I am going to revisit this list and compare to see which songs are still in the list– and that is the point.
